Tip: Vampire Diaries by LJ Smith or his other series - Secret Circle and the world of night is my favorite, next to the Vampire Diaries. The Night World Series has all types of paranormal beings in it.
I also like Patricia Briggs Mercedes Thompson series. It is a Walker (transformed) into a coyote, and are not vampires, withces, werewolves and fairies in the books. This series is no longer a (sure, if what you want), but I think it is appropriate for a younger audience.
